Important Notice: TruStage Cybersecurity Incident
TruStage, one of our vendors, is investigating a cybersecurity incident and has temporarily shut down its system as a precaution. This system shutdown has caused interruption to its normal operations that could impact some members. At this time, TruStage is determining whether member personal information has been impacted.
TruStage is working with cybersecurity experts making steady progress in its recovery from the cybersecurity incident to ensure safety, stability, and security with the goal of being operational by mid-August. Until then, alternative processes will remain in place while recovery continues.
If you get an unsolicited call, text, or email from TruStage:
- Do not respond to them
- Do not open any links or attachments sent to you
- Do not give out any personal information
- Call TruStage directly at 844-958-8910
Are WEPCO systems affected?
No. WEPCO systems remain secure and were not impacted. The issue is limited to TruStage.
Are my funds federally insured?
Yes. Your deposits are federally insured by NCUA.
What does TruStage provide to members?
TruStage provides protection products for loans such as:
- Debt Protection coverage on loans
- Credit Life & Disability on loans (former Potomac members only)
- GAP Insurance
If your current loan has one of the coverages above, it is protected. This includes any loan with protection before or after the TruStage shutdown. To file a new claim, go to http://trustage.com/startclaim.
All claim payments will be delayed. If you have questions about a claim on your loan, please contact Kristie Hamilton, Loan Manager, or Heather Kirk, Collection Manager.
TruStage also provides insurance coverage through mailings such as:
- Auto, Homeowners, Life, and AD&D Insurance
To file a claim for Life and AD&D, go to http://trustage.com/startclaim. For claims on auto or homeowners, refer to your policy. For claim payments on insurance obtained through TruStage, call 844-958-8910.
Will the TruStage billing fees continue?
Billing fees are paused at this time. Fees will be posted when TruStage’s system is restored.
Will the pause in the billing fees impact my coverage?
No. Your coverage continues.

Yes. We notified NCUA about the cybersecurity incident. TruStage has also notified NCUA.
