WEPCO FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is a federally-insured and chartered credit union, with more than 24,000+ members and assets over $200 million. WEPCO Federal Credit Union was founded in 1950 by the employees of West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company, which is now known as NewPage Corporation.

As a credit union, we are a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution that exists solely for the benefit of its members. We encourage members to save for the future and use credit wisely, and we provide the products and services that allow members to do so.

With just a $5.00 deposit in a Share Savings Account, your membership in WEPCO Federal Credit Union can be established. Then, let WEPCO Federal Credit Union become your place for affordable financial services.

Qualifying for Membership examples:

Example 1:

Q:  My father-in-law (my husband’s father) has an account with WEPCO.  Can I join through him?
A:   No.  Your husband would have to join for you to become a member if you cannot qualify by any other means.  Your in-laws are not considered "immediate" family per NCUA's definition.

Example 2:

Q:  My sister lives in Allegany County, Maryland but she does not currently have an account with WEPCO.  I live in California.  Can I join through my sister?
A:  You can!  Because your sister is your "immediate" family member per NCUA definition and qualifies for membership since by residing in a qualifying county (Allegany), you can join WEPCO even though your sister is not a member.

Example 3:

Q:  My employer has a businss account with WEPCO but their business in not in WEPCO 's field of membership.  My employer had the business in Allegany County, but now they have moved to Fredrick County, Maryland.  I do not have any immediate family that qualify to join through and cannot join under any qualifier.  Can I join because my employer has a business account with WEPCO?
A:  No.  Your employer would have to apply to be added to our field of membership as a Select Employee Group (SEG).  If your employer's business was still be located in Allegany County, a qualifying county, because you work there, you could've join. But since the business is now located in Fredrick County, Maryland, you do not qualify unless your employer becomes a SEG.

Example 4:

Q:  I live in Washington County, but I belong to the VFW is in Garrett County, Maryland.  SInce the VFW located in a qualifying county, is a legal entity, and I am a member, can I join WEPCO?
A:  No, the legal entity, in this case, VFW would have to apply to become a Select Employee Group (SEG) with WEPCO.  Then, all its members could join, regardless of where they now live.
